A Trip to a Farm — Grade I

February 3rd was indeed an interesting day filled with excitement and wonder as children of Grade I were taken to a farm to see Emu and Ostrich birds. They were taken for a nature walk in the fields and squealed with excitement when they spotted colorful butterflies all around them. We walked along singing “Old Mac Donald had a Farm”.

They also saw Kingfisher birds and Cranes flying. Buffaloes were found grazing. After the nature walk, children walked into the farm and their excitement knew no bounds when they saw Emu and Ostrich birds prancing around. The Emu birds were as curious as our little ones and were eyeing us with curiosity.

Children saw the food which was being fed to the birds. They also saw Hens all around the farm and a dog (St. Bernard breed) which guards the farm and were fascinated with its huge size. On their way out, children collected feathers of Emus and Hens as memoirs. This visit to the farm will be etched in their young minds forever.
