On 3rd January 2012 a group of 27 children from classes 8 and 9 of Oakridge International School along with two teachers (Aditi and Ranganath) started for an educational tour to Delhi-Agra-Ranthambhore and Jaipur.

On the first day the children visited Taj Mahal. It was a chilly morning but the children were in great spirits. In the soft morning sunlight the Taj looked beautiful like a delicate white jewel. In the evening the team visited Fatepur Sikri –The capital city built by Akbar to commemorated his achievements. The palace complex is beautiful it is dominated by a central court with water bodies and fountains, in the centre of which is a pavilion for music.

On the 2nd day the children with great enthusiasm went for a jeep safari to the Ranthambhore National Park. The excitement of seeing the animals like deer's, peacocks, crocodiles and beautiful birds in their natural habitat was exhilarating.

Day 3 was memorable visiting the Jantar Mantar (Sawai Jai Singh-II, constructed it, The Jantar Mantar is a corruption of the Sanskrit word yantra mantra meaning instruments and formulae. It was built not only to verify astronomical observations made at Jaipur, but also to stimulate interest in astronomy.)Hawa Mahal, The City Palace ( The city Palace is a historic landmark. The Carved arches are supported by grey-white marble columns studded with floral motifs in gold and coloured stones. The palace museum has a fantastic collection of Royal clothes) and the Amber Fort (The marvellous decoration of the Amer Fort is influenced by both, the Hindu and Muslim manner of ornamentation. Exquisite paintings of hunting scenes on the walls depict the temperament of the Rajput's, who were adventurous, revolutionary and self-indulgent.)It seemed that day that history had come alive.

Day 4 was spent well in Delhi visiting India Gate, Lotus temple and Qutub Minar. The children shopped till they dropped in a Shopping mall complex and had a hearty lunch in McDonald. The team boarded the flight back to Vizag with happy memories. It was truly a successful trip as the children displayed a great team spirit and enjoyed themselves thoroughly.
