Children of grade 1 were divided into groups, and each group
was given words like ai, ee,oo,ao...... Children were made to brain storm using
the phonemes given to them and were made to write the long vowel phonemes on
the given balloons. They identified many words and also made sentences and
poems using the phonemes. This activity helped the kids to recognize and recall
words with long vowel phonemes.
