Children
of Grade II had a Math activity on the topic “Measurement — Standard and
Non-Standard Units”. The children were taught and shown how to measure the
lengths and heights of different things using both standard and non-standard
units. They learnt: Non-standard units are body parts which were used
long ago to measure and; Standard units are used to measure length, height,
weight, and capacity. For example, metre is the main unit used to measure
lengths and heights.
