PP1 Activity: Rangoli

Rangoli…the very name makes us visualize a beautiful pattern, full of colors, though leaving the artist with a beautiful mess. Children of PP1 were all immersed deeply in the colors and glitter bringing out lovely patterns from the stencils given to them, and came out with magnificent pieces of work.

Guest Lecture by VP Boarding of Oakridge International School

Mr. Rajesh Saxena, (VP Boarding, Oakridge), father of Aditya Saxena (Grade 5A), was invited for guest lecture on January 28. He spoke about "Importance of Technology in Daily Life". Children were very interested to learn and understood the advantages and disadvantages of technology.    

Memory Game for Nursery Children

Learners love to play Memory Game.  A tray of vegetables was shown to the learners and later covered with a cloth; children were encouraged to remember the vegetables and name them. This activity helps the children to increase their concentration and develops memory.

PP 2 Activity to Develop Reasoning and Thinking Skills

Sharing their ideal celebration with their friends when given a chance to depict and represent was very interesting and exciting for the little ones. This activity develops their reasoning and thinking skills and also helps them to relate it in real life.

Hopscotch Game for Nursery Children

Hopscotch game has been a popular activity since years. It is an excellent beginner game for young children as it allows them to learn how to jump, balance, and recognize things. Children were allowed to identify and jump on the different fruits drawn on the floor. This activity develops motor skills and balance ability.  

Guest Lecture for Grades VI, VII, VIII (CIE)

A guest lecture was taken by Miss Shravani, Agricultural Forest Officer, for the CIE segment.  The lecture was on ‘Agriculture’.  She enlightened the students on the use of chemicals in the form of pesticides and fertilizers. She explained that it is harmful to us and it should be avoided.

  

She pointed out the need for safe agriculture by using biodegradable fertilizers like vermicompost which is very safe.  The children raised several doubts and realized the importance of safe agriculture for healthy living.

Student Development Program: Guest Lecture for Grades 1 and 2

Children of Grades 1 and 2 brushed up their skills of speaking as our guest, Ms. Neera Prasad, Deputy Coordinator, Marketing had an interactive session on ‘Speaking Skills and Pronunciation’.

She focused on words which we use everyday but are confused with the pronunciations. Children were given examples of talking rudely and politely with sentences and were encouraged to speak politely but with stress and energy which sounds positive. If such speaking skills are practiced, it will improve communication skills. Videos on the above were shown to children to help them understand that effective speaking and communication skills are very important for our overall personality.
