Children of Grade 1
were taken to the Physics Lab to understand Standards of Measurement on 24th Sept,
2014.
They were shown a weighing Scale to know about measuring weight in grams and Kilograms.
A beaker with measurement was shown to help them to understand that any form liquid can be measured to understand capacity in liters and milliliters
A Spring Balance was shown which is used to measure the weight of things. It was explained that a bigger Spring Balance could be used to weigh the Luggage before boarding a flight.
A digital weighing scale was shown which was identified easily by children as most of them had seen it in the supermarkets.
A long ruler was used to measure the length of the table and height of children.
The rules of measurement too were reinforced – that always measurement should be taken from end to end, it should be measured in a straight line and body parts too can be used to measure.
