It’s All About You!
We really are just teenagers we need someone to guide us for a carefree adolescence.
Dr. Amit Saple, a renowned surgeon of Seven Hills Hospital was invited to our school to address the boys of Classes VII-X on “Guidance on Growing up" dealing with the issues of hygiene, puberty, precautions to be taken, physical and emotional changes. It was an interactive session and was a great learning experience.
The girls of Classes V-X went in for a similar session with Dr. Shalini Kocherla, a clinical psychologist.
ONE NATION READING TOGETHER - OIS
Oakridge International School, celebrated D.E.A.R Day (Drop Everything and Read Day) in conjunction with ONE NATION READING TOGETHER. The entire staff and students of the school read for 10 minutes during the morning assembly after taking a beautiful oath delivered by Geetha Krishnan, our Headmistress. There was pin drop silence as we were lost in a world where books and only books held sway. There is a saying, "Read to Lead and thus Succeed”. We want the seed of knowledge to grow in every child. To excel and exceed we all must read.
Our school wishes to inculcate good reading habit in every child and also continue its efforts to do its bit for the community by participating in the One Nation Reading Together, a Scholastic Programme. Hundred books will be donated to charity by Scholastic on behalf of Oakridge.
Health & Wellness Program

VLCC has sponsored free weight reduction session for the overweight & obese students and faculty.
Life is all about being fit and healthy!
A Numismatics Exhibition
Pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters!
I'm...Learning about money
Coins through the Ages –A Numismatics Exhibition was held in Oakridge Tagarapuvalasa Campus . The buying and selling of coin collections by numismatists who are professional dealers advances the study of money. Red Book of Coin Values for 2008 is a good book for children interested in coins.

OakFit
Dear Parents
Greetings from Oakridge International School!
It has always been our endeavour to equip our students with competencies, commitment and compassion as good practices that will hold them in good stead in their dealings with life. We also realize the importance of good health and fitness in a child’s life.
In our efforts to bring good health to our students we have initiated ‘OakFit’ – a means of keeping fit. Taking advantage of the ambience and convenience provided by the city, our students with their family and friends will henceforth gather at Kali Temple and proceed towards Park hotel on Sundays. They may cycle, walk, run or jog down to the finishing point.
We will be honoured by your presence at the run to encourage the ‘OakFit’ team and run with them. Please extend our invitation to your family and friends as well.
Start at: Kali Temple, 6.30 am
Finish: The Park, 7.30 am
You have been very gracious in the past and have motivated the school and its students and we look forward to your presence and continued support on this occasion.
Yours sincerely
Geetha Krishnan
Headmistress
