Students of grade IV have done
an activity on 19-09-14 related to 'Plants
making food' lesson where students had to check the presence of the
starch in potato using Iodine solution. The students were surprised to
see the color change of the iodine solution from red to bluish black
when kept on potato which shows the presence of starch. Through this
activity students learnt that potato contains starch.
Children of Grade 2 were taken for a
field trip to Chandana Gardens on 22nd Sept,
2012, in connection with the Chapters Plants and Food we eat. They identified
different types of plants like trees, creepers, shrubs & herbs. They
understood that plants and their leaves are of different size and shape.
Children saw some of the fruits like jack fruits and oranges etc. Children also
learned that plants are one of the main sources of food.
CLASS-6 CIE lab activity pics in
connection with the topic "ACIDS AND ALKALIS", students performed the
neutralization reactions, and also identified the acids and alkalis with pH
indicators.
Hindi students of class II
were taken on a field trip to Kambal Konda in relation with the
topic (birds). Children saw different kind of birds.
As part of the
Timetable on Value Education, a parent is invited once a month to share their
stories, ideas, information etc.,
Ms Srilatha, mother
of Tatvika of Grade 1 B was kind enough to take time off from her busy
schedule and share tips on eating healthy food
She showed a PPt on
how to stay fit and healthy. She had an interactive session with the
children. She also gave interesting handouts to everyone on "What
makes a healthy breakfast" wherein they had to select and draw their own
healthy breakfast.
The children really
enjoyed the session and thanked our guest and gave her a token of appreciation.
Tiny tots of Grade 1 looked even cuter
when they adorned the water drop mask on 23rd Sept in the class. Children were
divided into groups. The first group was asked to recite a poem about
water They chose to recite Rain, rain go away & incy Wincy speed with
actions. The second group was asked to give an adjective for water. Each
one came up interesting adjectives like hot, cold, fresh, blue, etc. The
last group was given the task of giving uses of water.
This activity enhanced their speaking skills, a recap of adjectives & reinforced uses of water.
Exothermic and Endothermic reactions.
Students
have performed the experiments by dissolving Ammonium Chloride and Zinc
reacting with HCl, identified the exothermic and endothermic reactions.
