Activity on Adjectives

Grade 1 had an unexpected visitor on 18th September. A little one year old baby wobbled and walked in along with his mother and Grandfather. The tiny tot , happens to be our student, Prashanth's baby brother.

Since the Teacher was introducing the topic - Adjectives to Grade 1, the baby was picked up and children were asked to describe the baby with suitable adjectives.

So many adjectives like small hands, cute, smooth skin, soft hair, big eyes, tiny, pink lips, chubby, fair etc were used by the children to describe the baby. The baby enjoyed all the attention which was being showered on him by his new friends and walked around comfortably in the Class. There were squeals of laughter and excitement when his tiny hands were grabbing their erasers, pencils and notebooks.

It was an impromptu activity but truly and enjoyable one.

Activity on "MY HOME"

It was such a pleasant sight to see the little ones walking in with their creation - "My Home", with pride and joy.

Children were asked to  display the model of their house to the class and talk about it, like the need to have a house , number of rooms, what those rooms are used for, importance of windows, how to keep our house clean, materials used to construct the model  etc.

They came up with a whole lot of adjectives to describe their house. The topic of Adjectives too was reinforced during this  session and gave them an opportunity to showcase their speaking skills.
