PP2 - Puppet Show
Using
puppets can be a great way to get young children involved in story time. Not
only does using a puppet capture their attention, it is also a great way to
make the story come alive for preschoolers. Hand Puppets are a natural and
fun extension of the pretend play that young children engage in so readily. The
children of Pre Primary had great time in listening to the shapes story and
were given many open ended questions.
Chairman's Cup for grade VI, VII & VIII
Middle
school’s (grades VI, VII & VIII) Chairman’s cup was held on 26th February
2013. The guest for this occasion was Mrs. Radhika, faculty member from
Chemistry Department. The topic was "Should Moral Science Be a Part of
School Curriculum or Not." The children showed enthusiasm in presenting
their thoughts for both supporting the topic and speaking against it. It was
indeed a pleasure to see all the participants presenting their views well
structured and thought provoking. The Chairman's Cup concluded by a thought
from our guest who said “There is no point learning moral values alone, but
implementing them in our lives is more important”.
Grade I's Field Trip to a Farm
Students
of Grade I were taken for a field trip on 26-02-2013 to a farm house near
Anandapuram to see the different kinds of animals and birds we see around us in
connection with the EVS lesson . In the farm kids were very happy to see
different animals and birds like the Ostrich, Emus and their babies, hens,
cows, buffaloes, rabbits, dogs and its puppies and a turtle. Kids identified the difference between farm,
pet and domestic animals. From this field trip kids learnt the different kinds
of food eaten by different animals and birds. Kids were surprised to see the
Emu's bird’s egg so big in size and all were so eager to hold it. It was a very
exciting trip for the kids. After the children reached back to school each
child was made to give his/her reflections about the trip.
