Students of class 1, 2 and 3 made a Puppet with an egg shell. They were able to Paint the egg and cut out the parts needed for the puppet. Kids enjoyed and sang along while making the puppet. OUT COME: Best out of waste creates awareness about some simple ways for making different useful things instead of throwing them out.
Class IV was taken to the zoo as a par t of their English lesson - the day of a banyan tree and science lesson - animals and their young ones. The children enjoyed seeing the banyan tree with lots of prop roots and wrote their observations. The children took a big round in the zoo and watched animals with the young ones.
A spelling bee is a competition where contestants, usually children, are asked to spell English words. The concept is thought to have originated in the United States.
The spell bee competition was held in our campus on 15th of Nov. Students from class-I to Class-X participated in the competition. Mrs. Ireen who is the in-charge of the competition had come down to conduct the same.
Oakridge International School celebrated Children’s Day with a difference – no banners, posters, balloons & streamers, just FUN!! An idea encouraged by the ‘Green Rangers’ of Oakridge that students did not need the trappings to enjoy the special day, was further defined to exclude plastics and enjoy the outdoors soaking up the sun!!!
The day commenced with a prayer for the children by the teachers and a small talk on the significance and importance of the day. The Morning Assembly was conducted by the teachers, who also sang, danced and acted for the students. Children’s Day was so much more fun because we celebrated the day through the children's eyes.
The ‘Green Rangers’ wished to extend the celebrations to include gifts of saplings to the students in keeping with the theme. Here’s wishing every child a ‘Green Earth – Healthy Child –LONGLIFE HAPPY CHILDREN’S DAY’
The Green Rangers of Oakridge Tagarapuvalasa Campus gave a radio talk on "Environmental Awareness" on 9-11-2011. They spoke about the effects of pollution on the marine life. The sea is indispensable to life on earth and experiencing serious environmental problems today. Harmful chemicals and poisonous substances are being dumped into it on a daily basis. As it is rightly said Modern technology owes ecology an apology. Their sincere effort was to make the people of Vizag aware of the dangers of pollution. Three cheers for our green rangers our earth warriors. This programme was aired on 12-11-2011 at 2-30pm.
The video is developed using "Fanta Morph", morphing software which is powerful and easy-to-use photo morphing software for the creation of fantastic morphed pictures and movies. This video was developed by our children (Ananth class VII, Sahiti-class 9,Anwesh and Kiran -class 10) in ICT hobby classes. Oh! What a technical world! We’re kinda good at it.

Oakridgers of class 2 did an experiment in chemistry Lab to see which materials dissolve in water and which do not. Jazzy really loves jellies, which is nothing but gelatin dissolved in water.
The Oakridgers did clay modeling to see - shape of the materials changes when pressed, bended or twisted.
