The Bonding between Music and Kids
Ancient
Greek philosopher Plato said: “Music is moral law. It gives soul to the
universe, wings to the mind, flight the imagination and charm and cheerfulness
to life and to everything.” Music brings joy and makes us feel happy at any
time. Researches have proved that other than bringing happiness music plays a
powerful role in the cognitive development of children. Music inspires
creativity, imagination and self expression. It also builds self esteem and is
a good exercise to strengthen the memory skills of children.
Various
studies have proven that musical training can help brain improve the ability to
distinguish between the rapidly changing sound which is normally considered to
be the key skill in understanding and using language. Music education in schools will help children
develop their reading and listening skills and improve their concentration
level through this. If the children are encouraged to learn any instrumental
music it will help them to enhance their basic engineering skills and also advance
the hand-eye coordination.
So
for this purpose schools have introduced various music classes and training as
part of curriculum to develop the inherent talents of kids. There are many
schools in India who focus on the cognitive development of children and since
music proved to be the best tool to enhance this talent, they have incorporated
music as a part of their syllabus.
Group
music lessons help children develop interest towards the idea of team play. It
makes them identify the possibilities of better opportunity to showcase talent
while working in a group. Not only that group music lessons can make children
recognize the happiness one can have while being with others and also will get
to know hike in creative ladder when they work together. This is the main
reason we insist the inculcation of music into curriculum.
The
continuous music practice and performances help to build discipline and self
confidence in children. While going through various stages of learning music,
the child also learns commitment and value of things. Music is a means of self
expression and it is a non verbal language which offers an alternative means of
expression to children who find it difficult to communicate through speech.

The Little Einstein Stays Next Door
We
are surrounded with a world of science where our actions, reactions,
circumstances, beliefs, thoughts and everything has some direct or indirect
connection with science. Proven science is what we study in school but there
many scientific facts which are not completely proven even though we believe in
it. That is the kind of relationship exists between any living thing and
science.
Amazingly
the new generation seems to be more inclined towards science and technology
than the prior generation. If someone asks me about my ‘experiments with
science’, I have a very bad relationship with science though I know the basics
of it. Other than the basic science of my existence every other science is a
rocket science for me. But when I look at the young ones I could feel the
drastic difference even in their thinking and attitude towards science and
technology and it gives a promising feeling towards a brighter future.
The
development in the field of technology helped a lot in bringing this change.
Children have access to which ever media they want to look into for better
understanding of things. Even the toughest and boring science theories are now
easy to understand with the assistance of a computer and internet. They have en
number of choice these days which we never had and they can develop their own
methodology to understand the complex math calculations and unending formulas
in chemistry. Since they have such gifted talent and availability of technology
we should encourage them to go ahead with their crazy ideas and experiments.
After all every big theories and inventions came from such crazy ideas of our
prior geniuses.
What
I believe is family can give the support to child so than he/she can achieve
their goal. Provide an atmosphere where they can do whatever they want and keep
a mind set to listen and see whatever they creating. But other than family
their school can do much more as it will become easy for them to understand
what they are doing since they study the theories in classrooms. Fortunately in
our country we can find several educational institutions especially
international schools in India that provide facilities for children to nurture
in the field they would like to.
If
we take an example like Oakridge International School in Hyderabad, the school
dedicate much of its time to encourage those talents in each kid which will
benefit the entire world tomorrow. Especially when the kid is more inclined to
science they offer various workshops and learning programs to widen the
knowledge are of the kid and help him chose his way. If all of us can promise this
to each child there will be a brighter future waiting for them and us too.

“I Want the World to look at me when I Dance”
Havelock
Ellis once said “Dancing is the loftiest, the most moving, the most beautiful
of the arts, because it is not mere translation or abstraction from life; it is
life itself.” Dance is one thing which connects the body and soul. It is one
such where communication takes place between the performer and the viewer
without any verbal communication. Dance can entertain, inspire and even
influence the viewer with its strong connection with human beings’ body and
soul.
For
me dance is something which is very heavenly and praiseworthy where I get
ultimate happiness by involving into the art with the artistic aura. Hard work
and dedication is what make one perfect in this art form. Most of proficient
dancers dedicated their life for the performance this heavenly art. Though
dance is an inherent talent some extra care needed to polish is and practice
from the very young is the only solution. It is always better to engage
children in art forms especially dance where they will get to learn life
principles and discipline.
Concentration
is the major asset one posses if they are engaged in art forms like this. For
children focus and concentration is the major requirement to perform better in
all the spheres. Fortunately our country is blessed with en number of talented
artists and performers. From our ancestors time we have the inclination towards
dance and other art forms. Like our tradition and culture we are rich in
artistic talents also. So as parents it is our responsibility to identify the
talents in our kid and encourage them in as many ways as possible. Some
children are born gifted who can win the heart of everyone with their flawless
performances sometimes without even proper training.
Training
is only required to polish the talent and can be provided in any stage. It is
continuous practice and hard work what works and gives the output. Many schools
in India provide training in this art at schools which is a commendable effort
to immortalize the art form. It inspires more students to get attracted towards
it and gives very positive reactions.
Dance
keeps the peace of mind and provides happiness no matter in which ever
condition we are. More over dance is the best physical exercise to stay fit.
Ultimately
we all are striving for peace, happiness and health. Dance provides all these
in various level and amounts.
